Gym owners are proud to be USASF certified 

Naomi Mahamuth is co-owner and devoted to athlete’s experience in the gym.  She started tumbling and cheerleading at age 12. Naomi participated in many cheerleading programs including the collegiate team at Texas State University.  Naomi is United State All Star Federation (USASF) certified through level 4.  Naomi has a passion in developing youth physical activity and is driven by the success’ and hard work of the athletes she coaches.  When not in the gym, Naomi enjoys activities with her 3 year old and spending time on her diy projects. 

Nick Valera is co-owner, cheer coach, and lead tumbling instructor. Nick grew up with a tumbling environment throughout his childhood. Nick’s father is his lead inspiration being a coach himself in tumbling and soccer. Nick brings with him 10+ years of coaching adults and youth in the sport of gymnastics and cheer. Nick is certified through the USASF through level 5.

Jason Rodriguez established Stingers Wrestling Club for training of youth and young adults in San Marcos.  Jason graduated from Texas State University earning a Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in Sports Psychology.  Jason has been a founder and coach to multiple wrestling programs including San Marcos High School, Wrestling Club Team Sand Storm, New Braunfels Wrestling, Warriors Edge Wrestling, and the collegiate team at Texas State University. During his wrestling career, Jason was a National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NWCA) qualifier in 2010 and top 10 finisher in 2011. Jason also earned numerous awards and achievements including Outstanding Wrestler Japan 2005 & 2006, as well as MVP  in Yokota, Japan and Texas State.

Laura Gomez started her cheer career with Cheer Star and Pop Warner teams before later competing in all star for 4 years with Cheer Station, based out of Austin. She laster coached there for 6 years and recently was a member of a Worlds Open Level 6 non-tumble team. Laura currently is head cheer coach at St. Michaels Catholic Academy and has a passion for choreography. Laura also currently holds her CPR and first aid certifications. Laura hopes to share her technique, passion and overall love for the sport with the cheerleaders she trains. When Laura is not coaching she is planning her upcoming wedding!

Lila Atkinson has cheered for 8 years on all star teams and school cheer for 6 years. During her time on both all star and school cheer, Lila also competed on her high school competition team for 4 years. Lila has been on All- Star levels 2, 3, and 4. Lila plans to attend Texas State University in the fall of 2021. Lila enjoys coaching cheerleaders to have proper techniques and push themselves to go full out. Fun Fact- Lila is an Original Stinger and has been on every season since Vim Gym’s opening!
